Intensive Therapy

Intensive therapy is a focused type of mental health care. Instead of one short appointment each week, intensive therapy gives you longer or more frequent therapy sessions. These sessions may last from 4 to 6 hours, allowing people to go deeper into their healing journey.

This approach is helpful for people who are facing serious mental health issues, trauma, substance abuse, or relationship struggles. Intensive therapy creates a safe, supportive space to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with licensed counselors and therapists.

Intensive & Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy

Our practice offers intensive therapy sessions designed for individuals, couples, and polycules who want to dive deeper into personal growth, relational work, and emotional healing. Led by a MAPS-trained therapist, we provide a safe, trauma-informed, and affirming space to explore intense or transformative experiences, whether in alternative lifestyles, queer relationships, or traditional partnerships.

Intensive Therapy Sessions

For clients who prefer to move beyond weekly hour-long sessions, we offer longer, focused sessions that allow for deeper exploration and processing. Intensives can help you:

  • Gain clarity on complex relationship or personal dynamics

  • Address trauma, anxiety, or life transitions more efficiently

  • Work deeply on patterns, boundaries, and emotional regulation

  • Integrate insights from previous therapy or transformative experiences

Session lengths can be customized based on your goals, including 50-minute, 2-hour, or half-day sessions, and are available in-person or virtually.

Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Support

  • For individuals, couples, or thruples who have accessed MDMA in legal contexts elsewhere.

  • Sessions are 4-8 hours, depending on client needs, and support relational or personal growth.

Psilocybin Therapy Support

  • For individuals who have engaged with psilocybin in legal or clinical contexts.

  • Sessions typically last 4-6 hours and focus on processing, insight integration, and emotional healing.

  • We collaborate with clients’ prescribers to provide individual sessions ranging from 50 minutes to 2 hours.

  • Sessions can be virtual, in-person, or in-clinic depending on the administration method, including nasal ketamine, troches, injectables, or IV.

  • Ketamine therapy can support deep processing, emotional regulation, trauma work, and relational healing.

Intensive therapy provides an opportunity to focus deeply on your personal growth and recovery. It is particularly beneficial for treatment-resistant diagnoses, including—but not limited to—PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, and low self-esteem. For couples, it can enhance relationships by addressing larger ruptures, building on foundational work, and increasing connection, understanding, and intimacy—especially for those who have tried traditional couples therapy.

At Utah Alternative Therapy, we are here to guide you with care, knowledge, and compassion. Start your recovery today—because life can change for the better. Schedule a consultation or intake now!
